Sanders competes in USMTS opening weekend at Rocket Raceway Park
Rodney Sanders entered his ARMI No. 20 Modified into battle with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Saturday evening at Rocket Raceway Park (Petty, Texas) for the series opener.
With 87 Modifieds amassed for the rain-shortened two-day show, Sanders snuck into the main event with a third-place finish in his consolation race after finishing third in his heat. With $10,000 on the line, Rodney retired on the fourth circuit.
On Sunday, Rodney followed up a second-place finish in his heat with a B-Main victory. Starting the $5,000-to-win A-Main in 16th, Sanders fell back to a 23rd-place outing in the 40-lapper.
The team will return to action on Thursday, March 23rd, with the USMTS at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kan.) for the King of America XII.
