Sanders 15th in ARMS seson finale at Boothill
Fresh off of securing his fifth Summit United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) championship, Rodney Sanders headed to Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana) to participate in the USRA Southern Nationals on Friday and Saturday.
Sanders was originally scheduled to be in Kansas for the final two nights of the 2023 USMTS campaign, but when those events were washed out, Sanders and his No. 20 Modified team went south for the weekend.
In Louisiana, 32 United States Racing Association (USRA) Modified competitors were at the quarter-mile clay oval for the last event of the season in the American Racer Modified Series (ARMS).
After the first night at Boothill fell to Mother Nature, Sanders finally got on track on Saturday. He finished as runner-up in his heat race and started on the pole in the 30-lap, $3,000-to-win feature. However, he fell back during the race and came home 15th.
