Sanders wraps up 2024 campaign at The Dome
The Castrol Gateway Dirt Nationals concluded Rodney Sanders’ 2024 season on Friday and Saturday, which saw him compete in a 63-car Modified field at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis.
Sanders took part in Friday’s preliminary racing action, and after struggling in qualifying, faced mechanical issues in his heat race on the 1/5-mile track. He finished eighth and elected not to start his B-Main, keeping him out of the 20-lap. $3,000-to-win feature.
Sanders also elected not to start his Qualifier on Saturday, concluding his event before the 30-lap finale paying $10,000 to win.
In 2024, Sanders posted 13 feature victories, 49 top-fives and 66 top-10s. He was also third in Summit USMTS points.
