Pair of top-10 finishes for Sanders during Fall Jamboree weekend
From Thursday through Saturday, Rodney Sanders and his ARMI Contractors No. 20 Modified team took on the Featherlite Fall Jamboree at Deer Creek Speedway. Across three days of Summit USMTS competition, Sanders scored a best finish of second at the track in Spring Valley, Minnesota.
Fifty USMTS teams were at the 3/8-mile clay oval on Thursday for the $3,000-to-win opener of the 27th annual event. Sanders started strong with a 10th-to-fourth run in his heat race. He rolled off from the sixth spot to begin the 30-lap feature and moved into second position on the seventh circuit. He finished as runner-up, 3.902 seconds behind Joe Chisholm. Brandon Davis finished third, Jacob Blees took fourth and Dustin Sorensen was fifth.
On Friday, the USMTS field swelled to 56 Modifieds for another $3,000-to-win show. After taking second in his heat, Sanders started 10th and came home 14th in the 30-lap A-Main.
Saturday’s finale saw 52 Modified teams in the pit area seeking the night’s $15,000 winner’s share. Sanders began the evening with a 17th-place result in his B-Main, but he started third in the 50-lap main event. He registered an eighth-place finish.
With just two Summit USMTS weekends remaining in 2025, Sanders continues to lead the point standings, 69 markers ahead of second-place Tanner Mullens.
