Rodney Sanders rolls to trio of top-10 results in Fall Nationals
Over the weekend, Rodney Sanders and his MB Customs No. 20 Modified team raced in the Land of Enchantment as part of the Fall Nationals at Vado (New Mexico) Speedway Park. Sanders grabbed a best finish of fifth in the three-day event.
When competition kicked off on Friday, 44 USRA Modifieds were at the 3/8-mile track. Sanders climbed from seventh to third in his heat race, then started eighth and finished fifth in the 25-lap A-Main. He rounded out the top five behind Cade Dillard, Terry Phillips, Tanner Mullens and Jake O’Neil.
On Saturday, the Fall Nationals saw its biggest Modified attendance of the weekend, with 46 cars in the pits. Sanders nabbed seventh in his heat and steered from 11th to fourth in his B-Main. He began the 25-lap feature from 18th on the grid and advanced eight positions to come home 10th.
Sanders’ Friday and Saturday results locked him into Sunday’s $20,000-to-win main event on an afternoon with 43 Modifieds at Vado. He started sixth and finished 10th in the 50-lapper.
