Sanders picks up Southern Oklahoma TOMS victory
Rodney Sanders continued his ultra-successful 2023 campaign with a Touring Outlaw Modified Series (TOMS) start in Oklahoma during the first weekend in November. He concluded the event by taking the checkered flag in the Sooner State.
With a $4,000 first-play payday up for grabs, the eighth annual Summit TOMS Nationals brought 48 Modifieds to the 3/8-mile Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma).
Sanders began the series’ season-finale event by winning both of his heat races during Friday’s qualifying night.
He then started fourth in Saturday’s 30-lap A-Main, a race in which all 30 starters come to the green flag three-wide. Sanders picked up three positions in the race and scored his 17th victory of the season over Chris Hengian, Colby Smith, Chris Huckeba and Mitchell Clement.
