Sanders wraps up season with best finish of 6th at The Dome
Rodney Sanders completed his 2025 campaign in St. Louis over the weekend with the ninth annual Gateway Dirt Nationals at The Dome at America’s Center. He scored his best finish of the event during his prelim night with a top-10 result.
Sanders, who was part of a 63-car Modified field, took part in the Friday prelim festivities at the 1/5-mile indoor track. He started his Wichita Tank Racing No. 20 machine sixth and finished third in his heat race. He then rolled off 10th in the 20-lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He continued his strong evening by advancing four positions to finish sixth.
On Saturday, Sanders won his qualifier from the front row, positioning him eighth on the grid to begin the $30,000-to-win finale. Contact early in the 30-lapper ended Sanders’ night early with a broken brake line. He ultimately came home 16th.
In 2025, Sanders claimed 12 feature wins, 48 top-five finishes and 65 top-10 results. He also earned his sixth Summit USMTS National Championship.
