Sanders Sweeps Vado Speedway Park's Winter Meltdown

Texas Racer Earns $6,000 for Weekend Double Dip

HAPPY, Tex. (March 17, 2026) — Rodney Sanders had plenty to celebrate over St. Patrick’s Day weekend — twice.

The Happy, Texas, native swept Vado Speedway Park’s Winter Meltdown with back-to-back victories, pushing his season win total to three while collecting $6,000 in earnings.

“I knew we had a pretty good car from the start,” Sanders said. “The track was top-dominant, and once we got some laps, we were really good. This was a total team effort, and it feels great to get back to racing after a hectic winter and losing our trailer in a fire.”

Sanders opened the weekend with a strong performance that set the tone early. After advancing four positions to finish third in his heat race, he charged from 10th to first in the 20-lap feature to secure Friday’s victory.

He returned Saturday and left no doubt, leading all 35 laps of the finale to complete the sweep and capture the $3,500 top prize.
