Rodney Sanders Dominates at Route 66 Motor Speedway

Preps for USMTS Invasion at Scotland County

HAPPY, Tex. (April 21, 2026) — Rodney Sanders capitalized on an off weekend from the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) by returning to Victory Lane in his home state of Texas.

The Happy, Texas native powered to a convincing win at Amarillo’s Route 66 Motor Speedway, backing up a heat race victory with a dominant performance in the feature.

“Thank you to the fans for all the support,” Sanders said. “Having a packed house like tonight is awesome. It was a great atmosphere, and we’re glad to be a part of it. We’re looking forward to carrying this momentum into the USMTS swing in Missouri. Thanks to everyone who makes this possible.”

Sanders’ night began with a strong showing in his heat race, advancing from fourth to first to secure a spot in the feature. He continued that momentum in the main event, charging from third to the lead and driving away to capture his fourth win of the season.

He took the checkered flag ahead of Jason Langford, with A.J. Sharpensteen completing the podium.

Complete results from Sanders’ lone event of the weekend can be found at www.Route66MotorSpeedway.net.

Sanders now returns to USMTS competition as the series heads to Missouri for the 12th Annual Mid America Nationals at Scotland County Speedway. The doubleheader weekend will feature two full programs.
